It is up to company leadership to decide which measures to take and which policies to implement to ensure the well-being of their employees in the workplace. However, beyond assisting in the development of programs and initiatives, communications teams can play a major role in getting the word out and inspiring all team members to buy in and participate in these efforts.
If employees aren’t made aware of opportunities available to them at work that can benefit their health and well-being, they won’t take advantage of them. Moreover, if leaders don’t consistently champion and model self-care internally, the health, performance and outlook of team members who follow their cues may consequently suffer.
